If you’ve ever considered dental implants as a permanent option for tooth replacement, you know that traditionally they involve a long treatment process. Dental implants typically require multiple procedures over the course of many months before you can enjoy the results. What if we told you that you could cut out the multiple appointments and receive your brand-new smile in just one day? Advancements in dental technology have allowed us to make same day dental implants a reality for many of our Scarborough area patients.

What Are Same Day Dental Implants?

Same day dental implants are done with the “all-on-four” procedure. The result is a beautifully renewed smile that is immediately functional. Using just four implants, we’re able to create proper support for an entirely new set of teeth.

How It Works

During the initial consultation appointment, scans and pictures are taken of the mouth to plan the placement of the implants. On the day of the surgery, the four implants are placed into the jawbone. With traditional implants, the patient would be fitted with temporary restorations and then sent home for a lengthy healing. With same day implants, the abutments and final restoration are immediately attached to the four implants. Adjustments are made to ensure proper fit.

Recovery

During the recovery process, patients will have follow-up appointments to monitor the healing of the implant and make sure the bite and fit are still correct. Most implants become fully integrated into the bone within a few months. Missing teeth can negatively impact your oral health. If you have experienced tooth loss, explore your options. If you are in the Scarborough area, we encourage you to call us today at 416 203-1434 and schedule an appointment to learn more about same day implants and find out if they are right for you.
