Get a Vibrant, Bright Smile with teeth whitening services in Scarborough, ON

Teeth Whitening Services in Scarborough, ON area

Did you know teeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic dentistry services among adults in Ontario? There’s good reason for that. Your smile is often the first physical attribute noticed by others. It plays a major role in first impressions and can impact your chance for success both socially and professionally. Professional teeth whitening is widely loved among our patients at Esquire Dental Centres in Scarborough, ON because it’s effective, and affordable. We offer several different options for teeth whitening that allows you to achieve dramatic results.

Benefits of teeth whitening

Feel Confident

Perhaps the biggest reason that teeth whitening has become so popular in our Scarborough, ON dental practice is because it gives patients a big confidence boost. When you feel great about your appearance, you exude pride and warmth. Whether you are getting ready for a big social event such as reunion, or wedding, or just want to feel like the best version of yourself, professional teeth whitening is a wonderful solution.

Look Younger

Having a beautiful smile can take years off your appearance. As we age, our enamel thins, causing teeth to naturally look less bright and vibrant. Other factors such as certain medications, smoking and tobacco use, or genetics can also play a role in tooth discoloration. When your smile is brighter and whiter you will exude youthfulness.

Enjoy more success

Are you up for a promotion? Maybe you want to start down a new career path? Appearance matters. Having a healthy-looking smile will make others perceive you as friendly, successful, and confident, which can give you the edge you need.

How professional teeth whitening works

Tooth enamel is covered with pits and grooves that can trap the pigment from dark foods and beverages as well as tobacco products. Over time, this buildup will lead to permanent discoloration that cannot be brushed away. Other factors that can cause this deep staining including trauma, some medications, and the natural thinning of enamel. While over the counter products can be effective at eliminating some stains , they are not particularly effective at brightening the teeth by several shades.

Professional teeth whitening uses a medical strength peroxide to penetrate the enamel and lift the pigments, returning teeth to their original shade. The bleaching agent enhances results by brightening the enamel to a whiter shade.

At Esquire Dental Centres, we offer both in-office and at-home whitening. In-office whitening produces results in a single appointment while at-home whitening uses custom fit trays to gradually whiten teeth in the comfort of your own home.

What you need to know before starting teeth whitening

What you need to know before starting teeth whitening in Scarborough, ON area

  • You must be in good oral health – If you currently have tooth decay, gum disease, or any other oral health concerns they will need to be addressed prior to teeth whitening treatment.
  • Dental restorations do not respond to whitening – If you have existing fillings, crowns, or inlays/onlays, they will not whiten with treatment. If you have these restorations on teeth visible in the front of the smile, we will discuss replacement options with you for an even smile.
  • We recommend a professional cleaning prior to whitening – This is done to remove any plaque or tartar buildup from the teeth to make it easier to whiten all surfaces of the teeth evenly.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Professional teeth whitening done under the supervision of a dentist is extremely safe. Whitening toothpastes and strips sold over the counter often use harsh abrasives that scratch the enamel and cause tooth sensitivity. In addition, these products are all one-size fits all, which means that it can expose the gum tissue to the whitening gel which may cause irritation.

While professional teeth whitening uses a stronger solution, the product is applied correctly and evenly to efficiently whiten without troubling sensitivity.
