Your Scarborough dentist is the talk of the town for excellent options in orthodontics

Dr. Amir Awadalla at Esquire Dental Center, Providing Scarborough-town-orthodontics

Though a straight, beautiful smile may be desired, many people hesitate before scheduling a consultation for orthodontic treatment. Some claim that they are used to their smile, so may as well live with it. Some say they are “too old” to sport a metal smile. Straightening crooked teeth, however, has numerous physical and psychological benefits.

Physical benefits of orthodontic treatment

When teeth are crooked due to overcrowding, adequately cleaning all areas becomes very difficult. Bacteria can collect in the tiny spaces unreachable with the toothbrush, posing a number of threats to oral health. Bacteria cause not only cavities, but also gum disease, a condition, research shows, that will impact overall health in many ways.

Psychological benefits of braces

You may think that you can live with crooked teeth, or believe that you have adjusted to the smile you currently have. However, this adjustment may mean that you avoid being in front of the camera, or that you smile only with your lips closed. Laughing freely, as well, may not be a part of your normal routine.

Our smiles are meant to be shared. When we smile confidently, we not only elevate our own mood but we also impact those around us in a positive way. An attractive smile is now viewed as not only a nice feature, but an asset in social and professional arenas.

With your Scarborough dentist, you can feel confident as you go about town on your daily business when you complete orthodontic treatment designed around your needs. We understand that every patient is different, and offer various solutions to close gaps, correct misalignment, and straighten teeth for a beautiful smile.

  • The most complex cases of misalignment and bite issues are best addressed with conventional orthodontics. Traditional braces are also sometimes the fastest corrective process.
  • Tooth-colored braces allow teens and adults to correct bite issues and more severe misalignment without the telltale look of a “tin grin.” Tooth colored braces use high quality materials that are capable of achieving the same beautiful results as metal braces.
  • Invisalign allows your dentist to custom design your smile with clear, plastic aligners. The appeal of Invisalign treatment includes the fact that aligners are removable, allowing you to continue your normal eating habits and care for teeth without obstruction from brackets and wires.

Because every situation is different, there is no ideal type of orthodontics for every person. During your consultation with your orthodontics dentist, you will be able to discuss your smile and oral health goals and learn about the types of braces that may suit your needs. Esquire Dental Centres has offices in Pickering, North York, and Scarborough. Contact us for your consultation.
