What can I expect during my first dental exam?
Our team will make your visit as comfortable as possible. First, you’ll be greeted by our reception team, making you feel right at home. Then, they’ll assist you to fill out the necessary paperwork. Our new patient forms help us know more about you for a personalized experience. To help you make things a bit more convenient, you can complete them online at home before your visit.
After the paperwork, here’s what you can expect during your first visit.
- Intra-oral exam: Our dental team will visually inspect your teeth and gums for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, and other issues. Our check-ups allow us to detect and treat dental problems before they become costly and painful.
- Dental X-rays: Although our visual exams are thorough, not all dental issues appear on the surface. We’ll take digital X-rays to help unearth impaction, tumors, cysts, bone loss, interdental decay, and other hidden problems. We use the latest X-rays, which capture high-quality images with minimal radiation exposure.
- Treatment plan: Our dentist will discuss the findings of your dental exam and devise a customized treatment plan to restore your oral health. Most likely, the dentist will recommend dental cleaning to remove plaque and tartar from hard-to-reach surfaces of your mouth. However, if you have periodontal disease, tooth decay, or other issues, the dentist will discuss your treatment options to achieve a healthy, confident smile.
